Focus on You Wellness Lecture Series The NIH is pleased to present a lecture on “Exercise and Sports Psychology” with Tim Puetz, PhD. Exercise and Sport Psychology is a scientific study in which the principles of psychology are applied in physical activity, exercise, or sports settings for the purposes of enhancing the adoption of regular exercise or increasing performance in competitive sport. This presentation will address such issues as: (1) personality and sport, (2) effects of anxiety on performance, (3) imagery in sport, (4) biofeedback and sports performance, (5) physical activity and depression, and (6) determinants of physical activity and adherence.
